This stained glass was made in a medieval way. The mouth-blown glass was handpicked for its specific color quality and no paint was added to alter the color of the glass itself. Then the black glaze was mixed and I drew the design on to the glass. When fired, the black glaze melts and becomes translucent part of the glass. It took many firings to get the quality of the overall contrast I wanted. That was a slow delivery. It took a year to finish that magic window. It takes a year to see the colors of that window.
